How does charging work?
Editors can create and manage Packs (paid seats), while Readers can only view Packs (free access).
How much does Satchel cost?
Pricing is based on the number of Editor seats in your Workspace. Reader access is free to promote adoption.

Using Satchel
How do Workspaces, Rooms & Packs work?
Workspaces are company-level containers, here you define site-wide settings and invite people to your workspace. Rooms are the next level down. Rooms can represent projects, teams, organization units, anything you like. At the Room level you also assign roles (Owner, Editor, Reader) to people. Packs are published in Rooms. Packs are assembled by Owners and Editors. Once a Pack is published it becomes visible to everyone in the Room + everyone is notified about it.
What is a Pack?
A Pack is a curated collection of information gathered from various apps and files, organized in a coherent way. Resources inside a pack can be dark links to other Saas apps or files. You can also add a little flair to you Pack and leave some commentary to help with added context if needed.
Can I control who sees my content?
Yes, you can set specific access permissions at both Workspace and Room levels.
What happens to my original content in other tools?
Your original content stays in place - Satchel only manages access and viewing permissions.
Can I collaborate with team members on a Pack?
Yes, multiple Editors can work on Packs together before publishing.
How do I invite others to my Workspace?
Simply enter their email address in the Workspace settings to send an invitation.
Can external stakeholders view our Packs?
Yes, they can be added as Workspace Guests & Room Readers without using paid seats.
What happens when someone leaves my organization?
Workspace owners can remove access from that person, and all permissions are automatically updated.
Is there a limit to how many Rooms and Packs I can create?
No, you can create as many Rooms and Packs as needed within your Workspace.
Can I update a Pack after publishing?
Yes, Editors can update published Packs. You can re-publish packs at any time to let everyone in the Room know about changes.
How long does my content stay available?
Content remains available as long as your account is active and the original sources are accessible.
Can I archive old Packs?
Yes, Packs can be archived manually or automatically based on your settings. Once a Pack is archived only Owners and Editors will be able to see the pack.
What browsers are supported?
All modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
What happens if one of my Saas tools is down?
Satchel will indicate which sources are temporarily unavailable while maintaining access to other content. We check on content sources (sharing links) daily for active Packs.
Is there a mobile version of Satchel?
The web version is mobile-responsive, with dedicated mobile apps planned for future releases.
What's the best way to organize my Packs?
We recommend organizing Packs by project, topic or team within relevant Rooms, but you can slice and dice it however works for you.
How can I track if people are viewing my Packs?
Pack analytics show view and engagement metrics for all the Resources in your Packs.
Can I reuse content across different Packs?
Yes, the same sources can be referenced in multiple Packs.
Which tools does Satchel integrate with?
Satchel can work with any tool that can produce a sharing link. You can also upload any type of file. Satchel will do its best to provide web based viewing of well known file types like PDFs, Word, Excel, PPT files but files will look better in their natvie apps.
Is there any setup required to start using Satchel?
Minimal setup is required. It might take a few minutes to get started. This is the process - 1) Create a workspace (You can skip this step if you've been invited), 2) If you've been invited as an Admin or Member you can create a Room. Rooms are places where Packs are stored. 3) Create a new pack and add some files or URLs. Now you're all set - invite a few people and publish your Pack.
How secure is my information in Satchel?
We use encryption at rest on all files and backups, plus we use SSL (TLS) encryption on all data in transit.
